Lightroom progress?

Post by winston »

"Once again, we are looking into this to offer a better integration with Lightroom. I hope I will be able to provide more information in the coming 1-2 months."

The above statement was made 10 months ago, just checking to see if any progress has been made with Lightroom integration, or possibly if a stand alone version for mac is in the works. I would love to use neat image, but I'm not interested in installing any additional programs(bootcamp, etc) just to run it.

thanks in advance, winston

At the moment, there are two options on Mac: Neat Image plug-in for Photoshop and Neat Image plug-in for Aperture. We are working on some more options as well, including a standalone. This work will also enable easier integration with Lightroom. A true filter plug-in for Lightroom could be developed after Adobe released a filter plug-in SDK. The last time I checked there was no such SDK yet.

Thank you for your reply.
Looking foward to a stand alone version, as it seems to make the most sense. Hopefully wont be too long of a wait.....

No, I read the official pages and developer blogs. It is hard to expect there is something unofficial that I would be able to get from Adobe. Based on my experience they are quite strict regarding such things.

While there is no filter SDK, there are ways of pluging in that don't require a full UI. PT Lens for example has no File UI as the files are passed from Lightroom and saved back into Lightroom. There are quite a lot of companies going this route and it id similar in nature to Aperture's plugins.
