Face and Skin noise reduction in batch mode

Post by kc562johnson »

I have a number (big number) of images from a theater performance to run through noise reduction to remove high iso noise. When I use batch mode, I notice that there are artifacts on the faces of most males making the faces appear pock-marked. Can I reduce the amount of noise reduction applied to the lighter skin tones in the batch mode?

You can manually move down some of the "bright" (rightmost) sliders in the profile equaliser. This will effectively reduce the amount of image elements considered noise by the filter and it will not reduce them. You can check which sliders correspond to the affected areas in the image by selecting such an area and checking the color indicators in the equalizer (see the user guide for information about using the color indicators).

Hope this helps,
Vlad
