I LOVE LOVE LOVE Neat Image--most days.
Here lately, it is causing what I can only describe as elevation map-like effects on all pictures that I run through it. There are squiggly lines all over my filtered pics.
Also---I have noticed that for some reason, I am unable to change the profile preset from default to my usual "filter and slightly sharpen".
There are two possible reasons - using an inaccurate or not matching noise profile OR incorrect filter settings.
Lets try to figure this out together. Please prepare one sample input image, one noise profile and one noise filter preset that together produce those effects in the output image. Please e-mail these input image, noise profile and filter preset to me. I will load them in Neat Image, reproduce the effect and then it should be clear what is causing it. Then I will suggest a way to avoid this kind of problem.
Regarding presets, please go to menu Tools | Options | Folders
and then click the Reset buttons there to correct possibly incorrect folder settings. This should make the popup menu in the Filter Preset box available again.
