5.8 Pro Plus doesn't always do the profile matching

I have my preferences set to auto match, auto fine tune and preset to 1/2 noise. When I filter the first image file in CS3, NI correctly does what it should. On subsequent files, the profile says "recent" and the noise levels shown are all zero. If I then manually tell NI to do the best match, it does the match correctly and remembers the 1/2 noise preset. I never had this problem before - don't know if it's 5.8 or moving to Vista from XP.
I've noticed this on files from 2 different camera models with different profiles, where the images being processed in a session were all from the same camera at the same (or different) ISO settings.

It looks like I have been able to reproduce this effect. We will investigate this issue and try to find a solution.

I'm not seeing this problem with the stand alone version of 5.8, which I don't normally use. It seems to be in the Photoshop plug-in.
