8 Bit or 16 Bit, do I need 16 Bit?? or Batch??

Post by matrix1272 »

I am pretty new to all of this, and I was wondering if I need the 16 Bit, that comes in the Pro, or is the 8 Bit fine. I want a Plugin for Photoshop Elements. And can you also tell me what 8 and 16 Bits Means??? and what Batch is?? Thanks

24-bit RGB (and 8-bit grayscale) image encode each pixel using 8 bits (1 byte) per channel, while 48-bit/16-bit images use 16 bits (2 bytes) per channel. All JPEGs photos produced by many digital cameras are 24-bit RGBs.

Photoshop Elements does only support 24-bit/8-bit images so the Home+ edition perfectly matches PSE capabilities.

Batch is also available in the standalone application included in the Home+ edition. Batch allows processing several images one after another with no human invervention, i.e., automatically. Batch processing in the Home+ edition is limited to 10 images at a time, and is unlimited in the Pro+ edition.

Hope this helps.
