Usage with Photoshop CS RAW converter

Post by fantauzzi »

I am building a profile for a digital camera. I have taken a shot of the target, and opened the RAW file with Photoshop CD RAW converter. I wonder what settings I should in there. Here below what I am considering:

- Click on a gray area, to have Photoshop set Temperature and Tint automatically;
- Exposure left to default value (0.00);
- Shadows set to 0;
- Brightness, Contrast and Saturation left to default values;
- Sharpness, Luminance Smoothing and Color Noise Reduction set to 0 (I always set them to 0 when converting my RAW files);
- All values in "Lens" and "Calibrate" left to default (all 0);

Does that make sense? Any thought?

Yes, that makes sense. The most important is that you use the same converter parameters during profiling and actual use of the resulting profiles. It may be useful to describe the converter settings in the device mode field in the profile or in a separate text file accompanying the set of profiles. That will help re-use the profiles later on.

Hope this helps.
