Temporal noise removal?

Post by andewid »

I think it would be possible to create better and more advanced noise profiles using temporal noise analyzing on the test target.

Scan or photograph the test target N times. Then analyze the noise how it apears on each image. That way it would be possible to more pricicely see how noise and patterns occur and thus be able to reduce more noise without removing fine details.

That would slightly increase the accuracy of noise analysis but I am afraid the benefit would be marginal.

I guess analysis of temporal data would be more useful in video processing where the temporal intervals between measurements are known and the improved accurate can really help.
