Camera Temperature vs. Noise levels
Camera Temperature vs. Noise levels
It's my understanding that imaging noise intensity increases as sensor temperature increases -- affected largely by ambient temperature. Equipment identification and shooting modes seem to be accounted for when categorizing noise profiles, an incredible feature. Obviously sensor temperature is not recorded in EXIF data so compensating for it will be a manual adjustment. Question: Does temperature only impact the "amount of noise" or does it also impact the "kind of noise" present -- all else being equal?
Theoretically, temperature may affect more or less everything. This of course would depend on camera too.
From a practical standpoint, adjusting the filter noise levels is usually enough to compensate any influence of temperature.
Moreover, if you auto fine-tune a ready-made profile using the input image, then this compensation is done automatically, there is no need to adjust the filter settings in this case.
