PS Plug in 16 bit or 8 bit?

Post by Doug Morgan »

I'm thinking of upgrading from home to pro+ version but wondered if the Photoshop plugin is 16bit in and out or more limited with PS CS. Also can it work with psd files? I find with my scanner the colors are much better with 48bit scans (16bits/color). Thanks

PS is the only limit. NI plug-in supports all bits PS supports.

Photoshop filter plug-ins in general do not care about file format used. Opening and saving image files is responsibility of Photoshop, plug-ins do not take part in this. So, any RGB or grayscale file that can be opened in Photoshop can be processed in NI plug-in.

I think this is basically answered in this thread, but to be certain:
With regards to the Home+ version, will the PS plug-in for this version also support 16 bit in/out?
Thanks

No, the Home+ edition only supports 8-bit images as specified in the featuremap.

The previous messages were about the Pro+ edition.
