Athlon 64 support with NI Pro 3.x?

Hi,

I read that 3.0 is even faster with Hyper Threading CPU. But will it be faster also with Athlon XP 64? Any plan to optimize the coding to 64bit?

When you guys have had the chance to get in touch with AMD and feel you have a positive or negative chance of optimizing NI to 64 bit, I would be grateful if you could inform us on the forum.

From what I have learned so far, optimization for 64 bit AMD CPUs will require more than just optimization. This will probably require complete rewriting and recompilation of the whole source code, which means there should be two versions of the software - 32bit and 64bit one. Hopefully this is not necessary, otherwise it might be too difficult to do right now.

Anyway, thank you for the suggestion. We will keep our eyes open on this new 64 bit technology and hopefully will support it.
