I'm using at this moment the try-out version and I am wondering what the correct sequence is. I always use usm as the last step in the editproces. Or first Neat image and then usm ?

Yes, of course using Neat Image before sharpening is better. Sharpening will worsen the noise if it is not yet reduced by NI, so I advise to reduce it first and then (in the end of postprocessing) apply sharpening.
