I am having trouble with large files (675MB - 8964 x 13,175 @ 16bits). The trouble starts when I access the Neat Image filter - it takes a long time for the filter interface to come up. Then when I select the profile I get the message "Unable to perform allocation procedure." then Photoshop crashes.
I am not having trouble with smaller files in Neat Image or with these same large files in PS otherwise.
This is version 3.0 in PS CS2, Mac OS 10.3.9, Dual 867 G4, 2GB RAM.
Any thoughts / solutions / workarounds?
Trouble with large files
We are currently working on this issue. The trouble is caused by PS and we are looking for ways to make it work correctly with NI.
A possible workaround is the following:
1) crop a small part of the large image and open it in the plug-in;
2) use Auto Profile to build a new noise profile from the crop;
3) save the noise profile to the hard drive; then load it back from the hard drive;
4) apply the filter to the crop;
5) apply the Last Filter in Photoshop to the large image (this will not open the plug-in GUI but will directly filter the whole image).
