I'm working with scans of 65 year old negatives. These are extremely grainy. I used NI 2.22 autoprofile with regular image. The dot pattern of the grain now appears as a reticulation pattern.
I have no way of getting the negatives rescanned.
I would appreciate suggestions on how to tweak the settings. When I sharpen in PS, the reticulation really stands out. I dealt with this using a gaussian blur in the sky. The rest of the image was pretty busy so it didn't show too much.
But, I would really like to eliminate as much grain noise as possible.
Thanks, Hal

Newbie question
Oops! Just read http://www.neatimage.com/mac/howto.html?m03
Actually, I pushed the "How to use" button. It looks like it's going to take a lot of fiddling around. Sky is gorgeous now. But, the rest has bits blurred beyond recognition.
I'll read more and repost with the results.
Thanks, Hal
