I have been using Neat Image Pro+ for almost a year now and keep finding new uses for this great program. Over the last few weeks I have been following the eruption of the Mount St Helens volcano with great interest, especially the views provided by the US Forest service webcam http://www.fs.fed.us/gpnf/volcanocams/msh/ - armchair volcano viewing at its best.
One of intriguing features of the webcam images is a mysterious glow that appears at night, which is thought to be the refelcted glow of the magma on the steam venting from the volcano. Anyway, the nightime images are almost all noise, with just a hint of the glow lost in the background. So I wondered if Neat Image could help out with the view.
The results were quite spectacular, considering that the images are only 640x480 webcam shots anyway. Here's an example of the original and the processed image (also converted to b&w and levels adjusted):

I have posted a page about this on my website, which also includes a movie of the volcano at night http://www.luscombe-carter.com/mount_st_helens/
